Overview

GolfTrack is an offline-first golf tracking app designed to help users track golf rounds, scores, stats, club distances, course information, and related golf performance information.

This Privacy Policy explains how GolfTrack handles information when you use the app.

Information Stored on Your Device

GolfTrack stores the golf information you enter into the app locally on your device. This may include information such as:

• Rounds and scores
• Golf stats, including putts, fairways, greens in regulation, and penalties
• Club names, club distances, and shot tendencies
• Saved courses and course-related information
• Notes or other golf-related information you choose to enter

GolfTrack does not currently require users to create an account. GolfTrack does not currently provide cloud sync or cloud backup through GolfTrack servers.

Course Search Feature

GolfTrack may include a course search feature that allows you to search for and add golf course information to the app. When you use this feature, the search term or request you enter may be sent to GolfTrack’s course search API so that matching course information can be returned to your device.

GolfTrack does not require an account to use the course search feature. We do not use course search requests to create user profiles, track users across apps or websites, or sell user data.

We do not intentionally store a history of course searches associated with individual users. However, when your device communicates with our API, our servers may receive limited technical information necessary to process, secure, and troubleshoot the request, such as IP address, request time, and basic request metadata.

Backups, Imports, and Exports

GolfTrack may allow you to save, export, import, or back up your app data using features on your device. These features are intended to help you manage your own GolfTrack data.

GolfTrack does not currently provide hosted cloud backup or cloud sync through our own servers. If you choose to back up your device, save exported files, or use operating system storage features, that data may be handled by your device, operating system, or storage provider.

Device Permissions

GolfTrack may request or use system-provided permissions only when needed for app features. For example, GolfTrack may use file, storage, import, export, or backup features when you choose to save or manage app data.

GolfTrack does not currently request access to precise location for tracking users.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Links

GolfTrack may include links to products or services that complement the app experience, including Amazon product links. Some of these links may be affiliate links. This means GolfTrack may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no additional cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate, GolfTrack earns from qualifying purchases.

When you tap an affiliate link or third-party link, you may leave GolfTrack and be taken to a third-party website or app, such as Amazon. Any information collected after you leave GolfTrack is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that third party, not by GolfTrack.

GolfTrack does not use affiliate links to track your golf rounds, stats, or personal in-app activity for advertising purposes. GolfTrack does not receive your Amazon account password, payment card information, or full Amazon account details from Amazon. We may receive reporting from Amazon related to qualifying purchases and commissions.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

GolfTrack does not sell personal information.

GolfTrack does not use your locally stored golf data for third-party advertising.

GolfTrack does not use course search requests or locally stored golf data to track you across apps or websites.

If analytics, crash reporting, advertising, account features, cloud sync, or other third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe those services.

How We Use Information

Information stored locally in GolfTrack is used to provide the app’s features, such as score tracking, stats, club distance references, course records, and round history.

Course search requests are used to return matching golf course information and to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the course search service.

Affiliate link information may be used by third-party affiliate programs, such as Amazon Associates, to determine whether qualifying purchases occurred after a user clicked an affiliate link.

Sharing of Information

GolfTrack does not sell your personal information.

GolfTrack does not share your locally stored golf rounds, scores, stats, clubs, or notes with third parties for advertising purposes.

Limited technical information may be processed when you use online features, such as the course search API or third-party affiliate links. Third-party websites and services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

Data Retention and Deletion

GolfTrack data stored locally on your device remains on your device unless you delete it, remove it within the app where available, or delete the app from your device.

Deleting GolfTrack from your device may delete locally stored GolfTrack data from that device, depending on your device settings and backup configuration.

Because GolfTrack does not currently provide user accounts or hosted cloud sync, GolfTrack does not currently provide an account-based data deletion portal.

Children’s Privacy

GolfTrack is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. GolfTrack does not currently require users to create accounts or submit personal information to use the core app features.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to GolfTrack, please contact us so we can review the issue.

Security

GolfTrack is designed to store app data locally on your device. You are responsible for keeping your device, device backups, and device accounts secure.

For online features, such as course search, we use reasonable measures intended to operate and secure the service. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Continued use of GolfTrack after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
